UPCOMING EVENTS
SIPD advances institutional excellence by leading collaborative strategic planning, fostering a culture of continuous improvement through assessment and effectiveness practices, and empowering employees through high-impact professional development. We drive innovation and alignment across the college to ensure student success, organizational resilience, and mission fulfillment.
SIPD is anchored by two primary areas of focus:
- The Lash Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) provides comprehensive professional development for faculty and professional staff, including programming, instructional resources, and peer learning experiences. The center also offers flexible office space and clerical support to adjunct faculty.
- Institutional Assessment guides the college’s efforts in evaluating and improving student learning outcomes. Through collaboration with faculty, this area supports the use of evidence to strengthen academic programs, demonstrate general education competency attainment, and meet accreditation standards.
Signature Professional Development Events at Bristol
Bristol Community College is committed to fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous growth. Each year, the college hosts several signature events designed to connect faculty and staff, strengthen instructional practice, and support student success.
Opening Day at Bristol Community College marks the official start of the semester for faculty and staff and is led by the College President. The day is dedicated to connection, collaboration, and preparation, featuring welcoming remarks, college-wide updates, policy information, and area, Union, and Senate meetings. Designed to align the campus community before classes begin, Opening Day ensures everyone is informed and ready to support student success from day one.
Please note: Attendance is mandatory for full-time faculty, staff, and administration. Adjunct faculty who are unable to attend are invited to participate in Adjunct Day/ Adjunct Evening Series.
Professional Development Day is a college‑wide, no‑class day during the spring semester dedicated to faculty and staff growth. It offers a variety of sessions, typically workshops and training, on pedagogy, technology integration, institutional priorities, and other professional development topics. Attendance is mandatory for all full-time employees and optional for adjunct faculty, and it ensures everyone is better equipped to serve students and support institutional goals.
