How it Works

Register For Classes

Upon registering for courses, you will be automatically enrolled into the program and the bookstore will begin preparing your order.

Verify Your Order

About a month before the first day of classes, you will receive an email to verify your course materials order and select your fulfillment preference. At that time, you’ll be able to see your estimated costs savings through the program, or choose to opt out. Click here to log onto the portal.

Receive Your Textbooks

An email notification will be sent when your order is ready for pickup or when it ships. Your digital materials will be automatically delivered for your course(s) within Canvas.

Enrollment and Opt-Out

The Bayhawk Book Bundle costs $23 per credit hour for all enrolled credits in exchange for discounted course materials. You are automatically enrolled and may opt out beginning 30 days before the semester starts.

The Bayhawk Book Bundle is designed to provide students with their required course materials at a reduced cost, but participation is optional. If you do not wish to participate in the Book Bundle, you must opt out each semester (Wintersession, Spring, Summer and Fall).

Please note that opting out applies to all courses for the term and cannot be selected on a course-by-course basis. If you choose to opt out, you are responsible for obtaining all required course materials on your own.

Materials

The program provides all required textbooks, eTextbooks, open educational resources, lab manuals, and access codes to eligible students.
The program does not include consumable course supplies that cannot be returned and reused, such as lab goggles, dissection kits, art supplies, culinary kits, dental kits, or uniforms. Also not included are any optional or recommended course materials.
The deadline to return all rental textbooks is the last day of final exams for the semester. You will receive reminders ahead of the rental deadline to your school email address.
Yes, the program provides you with the option to purchase any rental textbooks at a reduced rate during the semester.
Yes, you will still be required to return continuation course textbooks. You will be issued the same title for the next semester of the continuation course.
Yes, you will have 48 hours to return your textbooks. If you do not return the textbooks, Barnes & Noble will contact you to coordinate the return in a timely manner.

Costs

Yes, if you do not opt-out, physical materials will be held at the bookstore, integrated digital materials will be provided through Canvas and your student account will be charged.
If course materials have been picked up or delivered for the class you have withdrawn from, you must return the materials to the bookstore by the end of the semester.
If course materials have been picked up or delivered for the dropped class, you must return those materials to the bookstore within 48 hours. If you drop a class and enroll in a different class, the bookstore will “swap” the required course materials so that you have what you need.

All credit courses, including courses that use Open Educational Resources (OER), are included when calculating the Bayhawk Book Bundle fee of $23 per credit hour. Bristol’s extensive use of OER materials has resulted in a low per credit Bayhawk Book Bundle.

It is important to consider your entire semester course schedule rather than individual courses, when deciding whether to remain in the program or opt out for the semester.

You will receive email notifications from the bookstore reminding you to verify your order and choose your fulfillment preference. If you do not opt-out, your materials will be held at the bookstore, and your student account will be charged.

If you are eligible for a book advance, the cost of your required course materials is automatically applied against any book allowance you receive. Any remaining eligible funds will be available to you as a book advance. Students who do not qualify for a book advance will be responsible for paying the Bayhawk Book Bundle charge as part of their tuition and fees.

The book advance program remains unchanged. If you currently have a credit balance on your student account, you may be eligible for a book advance. Check your eAccount within myBristol to view your book advance balance. Book advances may continue to be utilized at the Bookstore.
