Student Services & Enrollment Management - CAS Standards
We must document the significance, value, and contributions student services makes toward the institution’s missions and goals and the ways support services complements academic learning. In order to accomplish this, building a culture of evidence that demonstrate the learning taking place within the experiences Student Services and Enrollment Management provide becomes a significant aspect of accomplishing better practices to deepen, adjust, and correct if needed, student engagement. Staff examine the work being done, determining the effectiveness of the work, investigate the impact and strive to meet departmental goals, division initiatives, and strategic objectives. The review also provides space to identify areas of needed assessment and future improvement plans.
Two critical questions are at the forefront of this work:
- Do the spaces we create for students impact them in ways that contribute to their success?
- What are students learning (and does the learning align with learning outcomes, division competencies, and the institution's mission/strategic objectives?
