Social Justice Forum: The Latino Male Experience
On Thursday, October 21, 2021 we kicked off our Fall Social Justice Forums with The Latino Male Experience. The forum focused on the real-lived experiences of Latino men that identify as Bristol
CC faculty, Staff, Students, & Alumni. Taking a roundtable approach, the panelists
were able to lead the conversation on a variety of topics ranging from education to
everyday life and share powerful personal stories about their thoughts on the education
system and their personal journeys within it. Below are a few powerful quotes said
by panelists during the discussion:
“I lived in two worlds, at school in the American world and at home the Spanish world.”

Moderator, Rob Delaleu, Director of Multicultural Affairs and Melissa Rogers, Student
Activity Officer, Multicultural Affairs, gave additional context to the conversation
by presenting data on educational inequities that exist for Latino male students through
K-12 and beyond.
