Student Awards Descriptions

Curriculum Award for High Academic Achievement

The Curriculum Award for High Academic Achievement is presented to students with a minimum 3.5 program GPA who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement and engagement within their program of study. This award recognizes students whose work reflects sustained effort, intellectual depth, and a strong commitment to their discipline, both in and beyond the classroom.

Bronze Shield Award

The Bronze Shield recognizes a student who has made a significant and sustained contribution to a single student club or organization during the current academic year. This award honors depth of involvement, reliability, and meaningful impact within one specific community. Nominations should clearly describe the student’s role, responsibilities, and the measurable or visible difference they made within that organization.

Silver Shield Award

The Silver Shield honors a student who has made substantial contributions to the broader Bristol campus community during the current academic year. This award recognizes breadth of involvement, cross-campus leadership, and impact that extends beyond a single organization. Nominees should demonstrate meaningful engagement across multiple clubs, initiatives, or leadership roles.

Sceptre & Scroll Award

The Sceptre & Scroll award is the college’s highest co-curricular honor. It recognizes a graduating student whose sustained leadership and service have shaped the Bristol community over the course of their entire time at the college. Recipients demonstrate long-term commitment, campus-wide impact, and a lasting legacy of leadership. Members are installed into the Sceptre and Scroll Society in perpetuity.
