Student Awards

Curriculum Award for High Academic Achievement
The Curriculum Award for High Academic Achievement is given to graduating students who have at least a 3.5 GPA. Students who have demonstrated high achievement, motivation, initiative, integrity, and intellectual depth may receive this award.
Curriculum Award for Perseverance and Growth
The Curriculum Award for Perseverance and Growth is given to graduating students who have at least a 3.0 GPA. The Awards Selection Committee defines this student as one who is persistent, dedicated, and willing to make personal sacrifices to achieve academic success in spite of obstacles.
Sceptre & Scroll Award
The Sceptre and Scroll Award is given to students who consistently provide exceptional college-wide service and/or leadership, over a period of years. Please be specific as to dates and accomplishments. Recipients are installed in perpetuity in the Sceptre and Scroll Society.
Silver Shield Award
The Silver Shield is awarded to students who have made significant contributions to the college during the current academic year. Please be specific as to dates and accomplishments. Nominations need to be specific as to the contributions to Bristol, including dates.
Bronze Shield Award
The Bronze Shield is given to a student who has provided continuous, outstanding service to a student club or organization of the college throughout the years. Nominations should include the name of the student club or organization, dates of involvement, specific activities and accomplishments of the student.

Prestigious Awards to be Announced on Awards Night
Bristol Community College Foundation Scholarships
Nominees are chosen for their outstanding academic achievement as well as significant college and community service.
Commonwealth Honors Program Scholars
These students have completed at least 3 honors experiences and they have worked with a faculty member to successfully produce a significant interdisciplinary research project and present their findings in written and oral presentations, all done while maintaining a GPA of at least 3.45.
Mace & Shield Award
Known as the President’s Award, the Mace & Shield is presented each year to a graduate who has rendered the highest quality service to the college and who has demonstrated outstanding leadership. The name of each recipient is inscribed on a plaque, which is located permanently at the college.
