On behalf of the Bristol Community College Board of Trustees and the Bristol Community College Foundation Board of Directors

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert F. Stoico, a generous and devoted supporter of Bristol Community College and its students. Through the Robert F. Stoico / FIRSTFED Charitable Foundation, Mr. Stoico’s lasting impact on our college community will continue to inspire and benefit future generations of students.

Mr. Stoico’s belief in the transformative power of education was evident in his unwavering support for Bristol. Most recently, his foundation made a significant $1 million donation to establish the Library Learning Commons at the Attleboro Campus. This contribution created a state-of-the-art space where students can access the tools they need to thrive academically and personally. His generosity has directly contributed to the success of countless students, aiding in higher retention and graduation rates.

In addition to his recent gift, Mr. Stoico’s $1 million donation in 2007 to the Fall River Campus for a business and technology center further demonstrates his commitment to enhancing the educational experience at Bristol.

His generosity extended far beyond the college, benefiting countless community organizations and initiatives. The Robert F. Stoico / FIRSTFED Charitable Foundation has given and pledged millions to communities throughout southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island, supporting education, healthcare, the arts, community development and more.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Mr. Stoico’s family and the Robert F. Stoico / FIRSTFED Charitable Foundation during this time of loss. We are profoundly grateful for his support and will always honor the enduring impact he had on our community.
