Bristol Community College will host its 25th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Breakfast, on Monday, January 20, 2025. The event is free and open to all.
The event’s keynote presentation will be delivered by Austin Ashe, Senior Associate Director of Belonging and Culture at the MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) Sloan School of Management.
As Senior Associate Director of Belonging and Culture at MIT Sloan, Austin Ashe oversees initiatives aimed at fostering a sense of belonging and innovation among students, faculty and staff. He is the coordinator of MIT Sloan’s More Open+Inclusive program, focused on improving work climate and addressing power dynamics in team performance, as well as MIT’s LEAD week, a three-day series of lectures focused on DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion), leadership and ethics. Ashe’s contributions to the MIT community have been recognized with the institution’s Excellence Award and the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Leadership Award. He is currently completing his doctoral program at UMass Boston.
The breakfast will be held on Monday, January 20, in the Commonwealth College Center (G building) on the Bristol Fall River Campus, 777 Elsbree Street. The event begins at 8:30 a.m. with a breakfast buffet, keynote address, entertainment and resource tables hosted by community organizations!
