Bristol Community College proudly introduces the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Artificial Intelligence Practitioner Certificate, becoming the first community college in Massachusetts to offer these innovative programs. All classes are available online and start in Fall 2025.

"As artificial intelligence continues to transform industries, nearly every job will soon incorporate AI in some form. All industries will see an impact and a benefit," said Steven Frechette, Department Chair of Computer Information Systems and Associate Professor of Cybersecurity. “From marketing professionals and administrative assistants to manufacturing technicians and engineers, AI will play a key role in their work in the very near future. This degree and certificate program will allow these professionals to layer artificial intelligence on top of their current skillsets, giving them a competitive edge and preparing them for the inevitable changes in the workplace.”

These fully online programs equip students with essential AI skills to thrive in today’s tech-driven world, with the ability to deploy AI across various industries – from healthcare to manufacturing. Students will gain practical, hands-on experience in machine learning, data analytics, chatbot programming, natural language processing and ethical AI.

“We designed the curriculum alongside industry experts to ensure that our students build the durable skills and competencies that employers will be looking for. Students will be well-prepared to apply AI expertise needed to stay ahead and seamlessly integrate this powerful technology into their career," said Andrew Fisher, Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Massachusetts residents can take advantage of the MassEducate and MassReconnect programs to complete the degree at no cost.
