Bristol Community College is proud to announce that the college’s police department has earned full accreditation from the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission (MPAC).

The accreditation is the culmination of several years of self-assessment, followed by an outside assessment of the department’s policies, procedures and operations. Bristol Community College is one of only three community college police departments in Massachusetts to have earned the accreditation.

This voluntary achievement reflects the dedication, professionalism, rigor and high performance of the college’s police department and their commitment to meeting and exceeding the highest standards and best practices of the law enforcement profession.

The MPAC Accreditation Program consists of 257 mandatory standards and 125 optional standards. To achieve accreditation status, the department was required to meet all applicable mandatory standards, as well as 75% of the optional standards.
