Bristol Community College is proud to host the Warrior-Scholar Project (WSP) on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 9 to 5 p.m., at the college’s Fall River Campus, 777 Elsbree Street. The full-day immersive experience is free and welcomes intellectually curious veterans and National Guard members to Bristol’s campus for an engaging College Success Workshop.

WSP’s College Success Workshops provide aspiring student veterans with the skills they need to succeed in higher education and include analytical reading, study skills and college transition sessions. WSP offers one and two-week humanities-based courses at premier institutions of higher learning, such Harvard, Princeton and Yale. This is Bristol Community College’s first time hosting the WSP, as well as the first time that the initiative has been hosted at Massachusetts's community college.
“I wholeheartedly endorse this program to fellow Bristol Veterans and Massachusetts National Guard Service Members. It is a valuable opportunity for personal and academic growth.” said Lynnette Guevara, Mass. Army National Guard Soldier and Bristol Student Veteran, who attended a WSP course in Summer 2023.
“With the new MassReconnect initiative, veterans of all generations can benefit from college success workshops like the Warrior-Scholar Project,” said Denny Cosmo, Director, Joseph A. Marshall Veterans Center, Bristol Community College.
Bristol Community College’s Joseph A. Marshall Veterans Center serves as a single point of contact for all Bristol and Veterans Affairs materials, educational benefit certification, academic counseling, essential resources, opportunities for peer connections, and assistance with job preparation and placement services, including veteran-specific job fairs and recruitment activities.
