CED 210 - Cooperative Work Experience I

This is a three credit academic course which consists of working in a position related to the student’s career major (approximately 10 to 40 hours per week) and participating in a one hour per week seminar.  By participating in Co-op, students will have the opportunity to acquire valuable work experience, earn credit and/or money, and explore career options.

  • Students should complete the online student information form and register for the online Co-op database.
  • Students will need to contact the at 774.357.2407 or co-op@BristolCC.edu to set-up an appointment to discuss their placement site prior to the start of the semester.

EDU 220 - Foundations of Education with Teaching Pre-Practicum

This course provides students the opportunity to examine elementary education (grades 1-6) and requires a two-hour seminar and 45 hours of field experience.  The placement process for students enrolling in EDU 20 is as follows:

  • Students should complete the online student information form and register for the online Co-op database.
  • Students will need to contact the Co-op Office to set up an appointment to discuss their placement site prior to the start of the semester.  Placements are made according to geographic and scheduling needs and requirements of individual school systems.  The Co-op Office has a list of approved placement sites.
  • Students will be required to complete a CORI check by individual school systems and in some cases pre-approval by Superintendent’s Office.

Please note: Students on academic probation are not eligible for EDU 220.  Students will be asked to withdraw from the class if they do not meet eligibility guidelines.
