Marketing & Communications is the information and marketing resource for Bristol Community College.

The mission of Marketing & Communications is to effectively engage the Bristol community by strengthening the image of Bristol through accurate and timely information, professional and creative materials, and comprehensive brand management programs. 

If you are looking for business cards, name tags, graphic design, brochures, photography, radio, or any other publications, Marketing & Communications is the office to contact. It is their goal to work with faculty and staff to strategically promote college programs and events and, more importantly, work with you to achieve your goals.

Digital Communication Tools

The tabs below provide an easy reference to the various communication channels available to faculty, staff, and students to communicate with each other. Please review how each channel should be utilized as well as when and how to submit content.

Description: Weekly faculty & staff e-newsletter publication.

Appropriate Use: Recent news/ announcements, program/ service promotion, new hires, HR policies and programs, accolades.

Distributed Tuesdays, 7 a.m. Submit articles by Thursday prior.

SUBMIT TO BRISTOL WEEKLY

Description: Web calendar featuring Bristol events.

Appropriate Use: All events taking place at the college should be posted on the event calendar. Tag “Bristol-Weekly” to be included in upcoming issue of newsletter.

POST TO THE EVENT CALENDAR

 

Description: Weekly student e-newsletter publication.

Distributed on Tuesdays. Submission deadline is the Friday before. Suggested timing is two weeks before event.

Appropriate Use: Recent news and announcements, relevant student information, student spotlights, important tasks and deadlines. 

SUBMIT TO SSEM NEWSLETTER

Description: Phone app can be downloaded from the app store. The app features a student feed, where students can ask questions and build relationships.

Appropriate Use: Primarily student-to-student interaction. Divisions have designated staff who review the app and respond to students when necessary. Marketing & Communications monitors for appropriateness and to triage issues as needed.

Description: The hallway monitors located at all of the Bristol Community College locations – Attleboro, Fall River, New Bedford and Taunton - serve as an electronic bulletin board for announcements that relate to the general college community.

Appropriate Use: Campus-wide announcements. Only messages from organizations affiliated with the college, including student groups, are accepted. Messages on the monitor should contain information relating to on-campus announcements and activities of a timely nature.

Submit a Campus Monitor Request

Description: Email distribution list including all faculty and staff.

Appropriate Use: Consider submitting information to Bristol Weekly instead of sending it to “@ everybody” in an effort to streamline communications. The distribution list is moderated; emails sent to this group go through an approval process before they are distributed.

Description: Email distribution list including all students currently enrolled at
the college.

Appropriate Use: The “all enrolled students” distribution should be used sparingly, for urgent matters. Please consider other channels before utilizing this tactic. This distribution list is moderated; emails sent to this group go through an approval process before they are distributed.

Description: Message appears under myAnnouncements when user logs in to myBristol.

Appropriate Use: Should only be used for targeting specific student populations, for example, students enrolled in a specific program. Can be used, sparingly, for college-wide announcements such as updates related to the Bristol Together plan or changes to policies, processes that impact students. For messages to all students, consider the student newsletter.
