Guide to Best Practices for Promoting Events

Student Updates Brief email messages sent to all enrolled students,  focused on one topic
only
“What you need to know right now” content that will keep students informed of services available to them, changes or updates to access of services during this time, important tasks or deadlines that they are expected to meet. Message must be 250 characters or less. Submit message 3 business days prior. Online Form
Bristol App Phone app can be downloaded from the app store. The app features a student feed, where students can ask questions and build relationships. Primarily student-to-student interaction. Divisions have designated staff who review the app and respond to students when necessary. Marketing & Communications monitors for appropriateness and to triage issues as needed.
@ everybody Email distribution list including all faculty
and staff
Consider submitting information to Bristol Weekly instead of sending it to “@ everybody” in an effort to streamline communications.
The distribution list is moderated; emails sent to this group go through an approval process before they are distributed.

@ all enrolled students Email distribution list including all students currently enrolled at
the college
The “all enrolled students” distribution should be used sparingly, for urgent matters. Please consider other channels before utilizing this tactic.
This distribution list is moderated; emails sent to this group go through an approval process before they are distributed.

Targeted Message Request Pop-up message appears when user logs in to accessBCC Should only be used for targeting specific student populations, for example, students enrolled in a specific program. Can be used, sparingly, for college-wide announcements such as updates related to the Bristol Together plan or changes to policies, processes that impact students. For messages to all students, consider the student newsletter. Online Form
