Messages from Board of Trustees Chair Joan Medeiros

Dear Members of the Community,

We would like to announce that a special board meeting will be held on Friday, Dec. 13 at 10 a.m. in the G-building Atrium. The meeting will discuss the recommended appointment of the fifth President of Bristol Community College by the college’s Board of Trustees. This appointment is contingent upon approval at the upcoming meeting of the Board of Higher Education on January 14.

Bristol’s special board meeting on Friday is open to the public, both in-person and virtually. A link to the virtual meeting will be shared with you next week.

Following the meeting, the candidate will be contacted and confirmation of their acceptance of the position will be shared as soon as we receive it. Additionally, during this special board meeting, an interim president will be voted on and announced. The duration of the interim president's term will remain uncertain until the final appointment of the fifth president is confirmed, and their starting date is determined.

The Presidential Candidate surveys are due by 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10.

It is crucial that everyone completes the surveys for the candidates as soon as possible, as the board will rely heavily on this feedback.

Surveys can be found here. Select the candidate and go to the link that has the candidate's name and Feedback Survey.

Thank you for your participation and dedication to the college.

Sincerely,

Dear Members of the Community,

I am thrilled to announce that we have reached an exciting and important milestone in our presidential search process. After careful consideration, the search committee has selected five very strong finalists for the position of President of Bristol Community College.

As we enter this important phase, I invite all members of the college community to engage with the finalists, ask questions and get to know them better. This is an opportunity for you to share your thoughts and feedback as we move toward selecting the next leader of our college.

We have created a webpage with information about each of the finalists, including their backgrounds and a detailed schedule of when they will be visiting the college. We encourage you to attend the forums and participate in the discussions. In addition, please use the link to the survey where you can provide feedback after their visit.

While we know this is a busy time of year, the search process is on a tight schedule due to the holidays. We truly hope that you will make time to engage in this important process. The search committee has brought forward five candidates who bring a diverse range of experiences and perspectives, each offering strengths and qualities that will contribute to the continued success of our college.

As we evaluate each finalist, please consider how their leadership, vision and values align with our college's mission and the needs of our community. Your input is vital.

Thank you for your continued dedication to making Bristol Community College a place where everyone can thrive. We look forward to welcoming the finalists to the college.

Sincerely,

Dear Members of the Community,

I am pleased to announce the launch of our search for the next president of Bristol Community College. As we know, our college plays a crucial role in changing lives, and selecting the right leader is paramount to our ongoing success. This transparent process invites everyone — faculty, staff, students, and members of our community — to actively engage and help us find the ideal candidate.

I would like to extend an invitation for you to become familiar with the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education Guidelines and Procedures for the Search, Selection, Appointment, and Removal of State University and Community College Presidents. It outlines a structured process for identifying our next college president. I urge every member of the community to review the document and participate.

A committee of six members of the college community has chosen Isaacson, Miller to lead the search. Isaacson, Miller has extensive experience in conducting presidential searches nationwide, with great success in the placement of highly qualified candidates.

We express our sincere gratitude for your ongoing support as we undertake this important initiative for our college community.

Sincerely,
