This endowed scholarship was named in memory of Dr. Rachel V. Holland D, a sociology professor who founded the Bristol Community College Head Start to College program which was designed for men and women who thought about continuing their educations but feared they have been out of school too long to succeed. This scholarship is for a student enrolled at Bristol Community College who is from a financially or educationally disadvantaged background. The student should exhibit a dedication to utilizing his/her education in helping others in the community. Preference will be given to a BIPOC student.
