Jillian Bumpus, Psy.D., has been appointed Vice President of Economic and Workforce Solutions at Bristol Community College. Dr. Bumpus enters her new role at Bristol after serving at Health Research, Inc. (HRI) / New York State Department of Health, as Workforce Manager.
As Vice President of Economic and Workforce Solutions at Bristol, Dr. Bumpus will provide executive leadership for the college’s economic development and workforce training initiatives, overseeing workforce training, business partnerships, and the National Offshore Wind Institute. Her focus will also be on building industry partnerships, aligning training with regional workforce needs, and advancing career pathways that support student success and regional economic growth.
Dr. Bumpus is a leader in higher education and workforce development with 15 years of experience advancing economic mobility through career-connected education and industry partnerships. Her work spans career and technical education (CTE), postsecondary education, and public workforce systems, where she designs and scales workforce strategies that align education, training, and employment pathways, while connecting K–12, colleges, employers, and government to strengthen talent pipelines. A Massachusetts native, Dr. Bumpus is a graduate of Greater Lowell Technical High School and a former Massachusetts SkillsUSA State Officer, and her experiences continue to inform her commitment to career and technical education and student success.
She holds a Doctor of Psychology in Human and Organizational Psychology from Touro University, a Master of Business Administration from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, and a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from Nyack College. Dr. Bumpus’ doctoral research focused on the impact of career and technical education on workforce readiness, and she is a frequent national presenter on workforce systems, career pathways, and organizational strategy.
Dr. Bumpus begins at Bristol on June 15, 2026.
