Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey has appointed Co-Chief Executive Officer, First Bristol Corporation and Bristol Trustee Jeffrey T. Karam as Chair of the Board of Trustees at Bristol Community College. Mr. Karam will take over for former Chair Joan Medeiros.

Jeffrey T. Karam is Co-Chief Executive Officer of First Bristol Corporation, a privately held real estate development, construction, and management company with a diverse portfolio of commercial, hospitality, residential, and mixed-use properties throughout New England.

As Co-CEO, Karam helps lead the company's strategic growth initiatives, overseeing acquisitions, development, financing, construction, and long-term asset management. Since joining First Bristol, he has played an integral role in expanding the organization's real estate and hospitality portfolio, including the development and operation of several award-winning hotels affiliated with Marriott International and Hilton. Under his leadership, First Bristol has strengthened its reputation as a recognized industry leader in hospitality and real estate development.

Beyond his professional achievements, Karam has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to education, workforce development, and community engagement. He has served on the Bristol Community College Board of Trustees since 2019, including as Vice Chair, where he has helped advance the college's mission of providing accessible, high-quality education and preparing students to meet the evolving needs of the regional workforce.

A graduate of Providence College with degrees in finance and management, Karam is actively involved in numerous civic and charitable initiatives throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island. As Chair of the Bristol Community College Board of Trustees, he is dedicated to expanding educational opportunities, strengthening workforce development, and fostering meaningful partnerships that benefit students, employers, and the broader community.
