Steven Martins, Chief Revenue Officer for the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission, has been appointed as a member of the Bristol Community College Board of Trustees.
Martins is an alumnus of Bristol Community College and continued his education at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science. He has also served on Bristol’s Alumni Board.
In his role as Chief Revenue Officer for the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission, Martins oversees strategic initiatives that drive revenue growth and operational efficiency. His previous roles included Director of Administration for the Bristol County Retirement System and Operations Manager for the Executive Office of Labor & Workforce Development. Additionally, he has served on the New Bedford City Council for a decade, chairing numerous committees and serving as City Council Vice-President and President.
His commitment to public service and community engagement has earned him several recognitions, including being named in the Top Young Professionals by the New England Business Bulletin and receiving the Heritage Day of Portugal Medallion from the Massachusetts State House of Representatives and the Alumni Volunteer Service of the Year Award from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
Martins’ appointment to the college’s Board of Trustees reflects his lifelong dedication to education, leadership and service to the South Coast community.
