Bristol Community College will host an engaging social justice forum, Anti-Semitism Past and Present, on Thursday, September 21, at 2 p.m. in room L101, on the college’s Fall River Campus, 777 Elsbree Street. The event is free and open to all.
The presentation, by Becca Levitt, Assistant Regional Director of the New England
Anti-Defamation League, will discuss the roots of Antisemitism, as well as how stereotypes
and misinformation are currently being used to perpetuate the rise of Anti-Semitism
seen in the U.S. today. The presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer
opportunity. This event is co-sponsored by Bristol’s Multicultural Student Center and Holocaust and Genocide Center.
According to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), the number of Anti-Semitic incidents increased by 41% in 2022, from 2021 in Massachusetts.
This follows an increase in such incidents throughout the country.
