Our thoughts are with those in Lewiston, Maine
As the news unfolds this afternoon from the tragedy in Lewiston, Maine, we find ourselves
reflecting on all that has been taking place in the world and is now closer to home.
We firmly denounce violence in all its forms and want to reiterate that we are dedicated
to providing a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all. Last week we came
together in a Wish for Peace. Let's unite once more in our collective thoughts for those individuals, along with
their loved ones, who have endured the impact of this most recent tragic event and
the distressing conflicts occurring around the world.
We were recently visited by a group of students and faculty from Pakistan, many of
whom came to America for the first time. I would like to share with you a sentiment
that I shared with them — this is a complicated time that is now layered with additional
uncertainties. The one thing that is certain is a need for peace and understanding
among each other as human beings.
