Swansea Ambulance Corps (SAC), in partnership with Bristol Community College, is offering a Massachusetts-accredited, entry-level emergency medical technician (EMT) certificate program. The program is designed to prepare students for rewarding careers in emergency medical services (EMS).
Successful completion of the certificate program allows participants to sit for the State of Massachusetts and National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician certification exams.
Graduates of the program, who obtain their EMT certification and complete at least 6 months of service with the Swansea Ambulance Corp, may qualify for reimbursement of the certificate program’s cost.
The 8-credit Emergency Medical Technician Basic Certificate Program, hosted at Bristol's Fall River Campus, follows National Standard Curriculum and meets or exceeds Massachusetts Department of Public Health Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS) requirements. Through engaging classroom and hands-on training, students learn how to manage emergencies in the pre-hospital environment, including medical, traumatic, obstetric, psychiatric, pediatric, geriatric and environmental emergency situations.
