Bristol Community Colleges names Chief Development Officer

Bristol Community College is pleased to announce that Judi Urquhart of Sandwich, Mass., has been appointed Chief Development Officer bringing more than two decades of fundraising experience to her new role. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Asian studies from Mount Holyoke College and her Master of Business Administration, with concentrations in marketing & international business, from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

As Chief Development Officer, Judi will lead the college's philanthropic efforts with responsibility for the development, implementation and evaluation of annual giving, major gift-giving, capital campaigns, employee giving, alumni relations and Bristol Community College Foundation events.

Judi previously served as Development Director at the National Indian Education Association where, through grant writing, membership development, corporate solicitations and donor cultivation efforts, she raised over $15 million in revenue to support the organization’s mission of improving academic outcomes for Native American students. Prior to this role, she served as Director of Planning and Development for the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe, where she and her team raised over $2 million in federal funding. In addition, as a fundraising consultant at Wakeby Fire and Associates, she has served such clients as the New York Public Library’s Schomburg Center, the Boston Public Library, the Marfan Foundation, the National Museum of American Jewish History, the Gorilla Foundation and the North American Indian Center of Boston in raising funds to support their respective missions. Across these various roles, her responsibilities have included strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, copywriting, graphic design oversight, data analysis, grant writing, funder cultivation and more.
