For the past few years, Bristol Community College’s Holiday Cheer Gift Drive and the generosity of
the college community have made holiday wishes come true for hundreds of children
of Bristol students.
Last year, in 2021, nearly 100 members of Bristol’s college community donated approximately $9,000 worth of toys and clothes, resulting
in gifts for more than 250 children. This year the college expects to see similar
numbers.
The successful gift drive, organized by Bristol’s Student & Family Engagement department, matches the college’s students with donors, who purchase items from the student’s
wish list on Target.com, that are shipped directly to the families. Donors who include
faculty, staff, board members, alumni and students are asked to make a minimum commitment
of $35 per child to allow gifts to be sent to homes with free shipping.
