Bristol Community College names new Associate Dean, Nursing

We are pleased to announce the selection of a new Associate Dean, Nursing. Dr. Dorothy Chase comes to Bristol after serving as Division Assessment and Program Outcomes Director at Laboure College and previously as Director of Nursing at Roxbury Community College.

Dr. Dorothy ChaseDr. Chase received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Fitchburg State College in Fitchburg. She earned her Master of Science in nursing, with a concentration in critical care and education, from the University of Massachusetts Boston, and her Doctor of Philosophy, with a focus in healthcare, from Northeastern University in Boston. She is also a registered nurse in the state of Massachusetts.

She will utilize her experience to lead Bristol’s Nursing program as a mentor, educator and researcher. Dr. Chase is dedicated to developing faculty and staff to prepare the next generation of highly skilled nurses and nurse leaders to serve this great need in our region. In this role, she will further strengthen relationships with students, faculty and community organizations to assist the college in developing continued best practices and outcomes for Bristol's Nursing graduates consistent with the college’s strategic goals. She began her new role at Bristol on August 23, 2021.

Dr. Chase became Division Assessment and Program Outcomes Director at Laboure College in Boston in 2019. She also served as the Director of Nursing at Roxbury Community College in Boston. In addition to these roles, she previously served as an Assistant Professor of Nursing at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Va., and at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Services in Boston.

Dr. Chase is an avid sailor, artistic swimmer and has two daughters.
