Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker has appointed Fall River resident Joan Medeiros, Vice President-Commercial Lending, Bristol County Savings Bank, as a member of the Bristol Community College Board of Trustees.
Ms. Medeiros is an accomplished professional and dedicated member of the community serving on numerous boards including Vice Chair, Boys & Girls Club of Fall River, treasurer and board member since 2004; Chair, Finance Committee, United Way of Greater Fall River; Executive Advisory Board Member, Bishop Connolly High School; Finance Committee, St. Stanislaus School; member, Rotary Club of Fall River; Member, Prince Henry Society of Fall River; and Board Member, New England Certified Development, Wakefield, MA.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in finance from the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth. She was awarded the 2014 Portuguese Heritage Award presented by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Portuguese American Legislative Caucus; the 2013 Financial Services Champion presented by the Massachusetts District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration; the 2009 John Brayton Community Recognition Award presented by the Fall River Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and named the 2003 Lender of the Year presented by the South Eastern Economic Development (SEED) Corporation.
