UPCOMING EVENTS
Wind Energy is poised to be a major contributor to the alternate energy sector. Globally there is an increase in the demand for this technology and professionals. This program aims to provide the fundamental and advanced concepts of working with wind turbines with a focus on offshore wind. With courses in project management, six sigma, and soft skills, the program aims to provide multidisciplinary knowledge and skillsets to students which are in demand across different industries.
Wind energy is a new and upcoming industry with employment potential. Students can feel proud to contribute to the environmental cause. This program aims to prepare skilled workers, technicians, team leaders, researchers, and scientists for the offshore wind industry. Participants will learn topics in electrical machinery, fluid systems, operations and maintenance, leadership, corrosion management, and offshore safety and survival.
This will be an intense program and will expect participants to possess/develop analytical and logical reasoning abilities. Choosing this career path is an entry into a global industry amongst the fastest-growing jobs in the USA with prospects of overseas employment.
The Offshore Wind Technology industry is also invaluable for professionals working in other industries like oil and gas, health and safety, technology, and offshore transportation seeking to prepare themselves for an evolving, global energy industry shift.
Learn more about the Offshore Wind Scholarship. Full-time and part-time students enrolled in the college’s Certificate of Achievement in Offshore Wind Power Technology and Associate in Science Technology /Offshore Wind Technology programs may be eligible for a scholarship that covers the cost of college fees. Eligible students are automatically provided with the scholarship simply by enrolling.
Associate in Science Technology / Offshore Wind Technology
This program is focused on understanding the engineering principles behind offshore wind turbine operation and maintenance and applying such fundamental knowledge in solving technical problems.
Participants will learn topics in electrical machinery, fluid systems, operations and maintenance, leadership, corrosion management, and offshore safety and survival, explore wind turbine performance characteristics under varied wind conditions in a wind tunnel and learn about assemblies and components in wind turbines, common failures, and faults, maintenance strategies and related risk analysis from availability and maintainability perspective.

After Bristol
There are very few programs in the entirety of the United States offering Wind Power Technology training.
Bristol's Wind Power programs provide a good foundation and a head start leading to higher academic programs and jobs in wind and closely related industries.
Graduates will have the option to:
- Enhance their qualifications by enrolling (/transferring) into degree programs in 4-year universities or enroll in the Associate in Sciences degree program here at Bristol after the certificate program.
- Apply for Global Wind Organization (GWO) certification and work as certified technicians for an offshore wind farm operator.
- Seek careers as consultants for a wide variety of roles in marine trade such as oceanography, hydrographic survey, technicians for onshore wind turbines, Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) operators, corrosion engineers, or water quality professionals.
