Substnce abuse counselor

  • This program will prepare you for a career in addiction and substance use disorders treatment and prevention.
  • How long to complete the program: This is a 3-semester certificate program that prepares you for the Certified Drug and Alcohol Counseling (CADAC) exam and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) certification. Day and evening courses are available in-person, online or hybrid.
  • Where can I work? Counselors can work in direct care workers in detox/ rehab, residential settings. Depending on certification/ licensing, they could provide individual, group, or family therapy in public programs or private practice.
