What's Holding You Back?

College is within reach at any age. It doesn’t matter if you are getting started or starting over – there are, what seems to be, a million things holding you back. But there are some pretty incredible reasons to consider going. It’s never too late to earn a degree – and we’re here to help you get there.

A college degree is an investment in your future. But that doesn’t mean you have to rack up loads of student debt in the process. At Bristol, we continue to offer some of the lowest tuition costs in the region. And, we offer many options to help you pay your way to graduation. 

Financial Aid. You can be considered for need-based financial aid when you complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). 

Scholarships. Bristol’s Foundation awards more than 200 scholarships each year, ranging from $250 to $2,500 each, to help pay for tuition, supplies or books. 

Payment plans. Set up a convenient budget with a no-interest monthly payment plan.

Benefits for Veterans. Bristol's Veterans Center is here to not only assist you in maximizing your education benefits, but they offer various support services to help you succeed in and out of the classroom. 

Your Bachelor’s Begins at Bristol. If a bachelor’s degree is what you’re after, start at Bristol and save even more! Bristol offers several pathways to a bachelor’s degree. Our transfer counselors help you maximize your opportunities – guiding you to choose the right program and courses that will set you up to successfully transfer to a 4-year college or university. 

And with the MassTransfer and Commonwealth Commitment programs, it’s never been easier to earn your bachelor’s by starting at Bristol.

Here’s the great thing about Bristol – we are a diverse, accepting, and inclusive environment in which to learn and grow. 

You will be taught by industry professionals, experts in their field. You’ll sit beside other students like you or different – and that’s the beauty of it all.

Bristol’s Adult Education offers day and evening classes at all locations to assist you with reading, writing, math, computer skills, and high school preparation, all in a caring and supportive environment. Adult Education focuses on college and career readiness.

We offer High School Equivalency Preparation at all locations for individuals who have not earned a high school diploma to prepare them for the HiSET test.

You won’t go through this alone! With dedicated advisors and many supports in place, we are here to help. 

  • Advisors are with you every step of the way. They can help you choose the right classes to meet your goals and connect you with support services along the way. 
  • Get help with writing, study skills and more with Bristol’s Learning Commons, which offers in-person and online tutoring for any student.
  • The Office of Disability Services provides our diverse population of students with a full range of advocacy and learning services. Whether you have a learning, psychological or physical disability, our ODS team is here to meet your needs. 
  • Student Wellness at Bristol provides a range of services to support student success, health and well-being.
  • Student centers such as the Women’s CenterMulticultural Student Center (MSC)Veterans Center and more are all here to help you succeed. 

It can be hard to think about finding time in your already busy life. Work and family commitments can be hard to juggle. We know what it means to offer an education built for busy lifestyles – that’s why we offer many options for working adults and students with families and households to care for. 

  • Bristol’s flexibility gives you the option to go to college on a full- or part-time schedule. You can also take classes during the day and/or at night. 
  • With four locations, chances are there are classes near you. 
  • Online programs give you the opportunity to take classes on your own time and make progress toward a degree in a way that works for you.
  • Apply your experience, knowledge and training toward your degree with Credit for Prior Learning. This means you can get credit before even stepping into a classroom.

We’re here to help you finish what you started! You have more life experiences now. You know what didn’t work the first time. And you probably have even more reasons than ever to get that degree.

  • Start with a certificate! These shorter programs give you experience and training in a field that interests you. The credits can often be applied toward a degree if you choose to continue your education.
