The Bristol Community College Women’s Soccer team is the National Junior College Athletic
Association (NJCAA) Region XXI Champions! Their 4-0 win against Holyoke Community
College, on Sunday, October 30, marks Bristol’s first women’s athletic team to win
a regional championship and compete in a national tournament.
The Bayhawks will travel to Herkimer College, in New York, to compete in the NJCAA Division III Women's Soccer National Championship, on Friday, November 11 and Saturday, November 12, in hope of advancing to the Sunday,
November 13 championship match. The women’s soccer team is led by Captains, Jillian
Swass, from Tiverton, R.I. and Jenna Cambria, from Kingstown, Mass. and Coach Jason
Tassinari, who is in his third season with the team.
“We are building the foundation of a successful women’s soccer program and it is in
large part to the great athletes that are great students,” said Jason Tassinari, Women's
Soccer Coach, Bristol Community College. “I am proud of our success and athletes,
who understand the importance of academics and the fundamentals of teamwork.”
