Congratulations to the Bristol Community College Class of 2017! The culmination of all of your hard work and dedication is almost here in the BCC graduation ceremony. On June 3rd, you will be BCC graduates and head either into the workforce or to a four year institution. 

We know you just finished with finals, there's just one more bit of studying for you. Make sure to take down the information listed below for you and your Commencement guests.

BCC Commencement Schedule




9:15 – 10 a.m.

Check in at your program’s registration table to pick up a card, to be read on stage, that indicates your name, program, and honors (if applicable).

Jackson Arts Center Lobby

(H bldg.)

10:15 a.m.

Line up alphabetically by program.

(You will be directed to your specific line-up bldg.)

C, K or L bldg.

10:30 a.m.

March into the tent and be seated.* (Ushers will direct you to your seat.)

* In the event of rain or the threat of rain, please bring an umbrella for protection during the processional from your line-up building to the tent.

11 a.m. sharp

Ceremony begins.

During the Ceremony

Go up on stage to receive your diploma cover and return to your seat.

Under tent

March out of tent behind the platform party and faculty.

After the Ceremony

Meet with guests and faculty at reception.

Commonwealth College Center Cafeteria (G bldg.)

Degrees and certificates for graduates are mailed within four weeks following commencement.

If you are a December graduate, you should have already received your diploma.


Commencement 2017 Details

The Commencement Ceremony will be held, rain or shine, on the Elsbree Street campus under a large tent Saturday, June 3, 2017, at 11 a.m. and will be followed by a reception in the Commonwealth College Center (G building) cafeteria. Student Awards Ceremony

You are invited to attend the Student Awards Ceremony on Thursday, May 25, 2017, which begins promptly at 6:30 p.m. in the Margaret L. Jackson Arts Center with a reception to follow from 8–10 p.m. in the Commonwealth College Center.


You will receive a diploma cover during the commencement ceremony.

Commencement Program Listing

Your name will not appear in the Commencement program or in local newspapers if you have a privacy/confidential hold placed on your record.

Disability Accommodations

Requests for accommodations for graduates and/or guests should be made in advance, preferably by Monday, April 24, 2017.

Cap and Gown

You may pick up your cap and gown, and a Graduation Information memo at the Bookstore in the Commonwealth College Center (G building) beginning May 1.

Phi Theta Kappa Honors Stoles

PTK Honors Stoles are worn by PTK members at graduation and distinguishes them as honor students and campus scholars.

Graduating Student Satisfaction Questionnaire

Please complete the Graduating Student Satisfaction Questionnaire, which will be available in March through your accessBCC account.

Please Note:

Graduates who are Massachusetts residents may be required to apply for health insurance if they are no longer covered by the student health insurance or other coverage.

Apply for Graduation

You are eligible to apply to graduate from BCC if you have completed 90% of your program. You can graduate at the end of the Fall, Spring, or Summer semesters. Commencement is held at the end of the Spring semester on the Fall River Campus.
