Accommodations for Disabilities

The Commencement ceremony is accessible to persons with disabilities. The stage will be accessible by wheelchair and American Sign Language Interpreters will be provided. If you or a guest require special assistance or services please call Julie Jodoin at 774.357.2568 or by videophone (VP) at 508-689-7616. You may also email Julie.Jodoin@bristolcc.edu. For more information about accommodations, please visit our Office of Disability Services section

Attire

Please plan accordingly for adverse weather conditions. Also note that part of the processional involves walking through the campus grounds. You will march through the tent on grassy areas; please wear appropriate shoes. High heels often sink in the grass while loose fitting shoes could slip and slide. You might also want to bring an umbrella if rain is forecasted.

Guests at Graduation

Seating for guests is provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for seating outside of the tent. Personal chairs are allowed at Commencement, but ONLY for use OUTSIDE of the ceremony tent.

Guests are asked to go directly to the tent to be seated in order to make the task of lining up graduates easier. Please follow the instructions of the ushers.

Trolleys will be helping transport guests from the parking lots (lots 3, 5, 6, 9, and 12) to the tent area. They will run until 2:30. Click here for a campus map.

For drivers with handicap placards, there will be parking available in Lot 1. The entrance closest to the reserved seating for guests with disabilities will be clearly marked near Lot 1.

Commencement Photographs

In order to help you in planning the best way to capture commencement memories in photographs, please be aware of the following.

GradImagesTM featuring GradTrak® is the official commencement photographer. An individual photograph of each graduate will be taken. A proof of the photograph will be mailed to you along with information on ordering copies and enlargements. You may view your photos on their website at www.gradimages.com.

President Douglas will be available for photographs during the reception in the Commonwealth College Center. Provide your own camera and bring someone to take the picture.

Flowers

One or more student organizations will be selling flowers on Commencement day on the campus grounds. We encourage you and your family to consider purchasing flowers from these students. Other vendors may be selling flowers outside the campus on the city streets, but please note that only student organizations will be allowed on the campus itself.

Simulcast

The Commencement Ceremony will be simulcast by Fall River Community Television on channel 95. Fall River Cable subscribers can watch the ceremony live on Channel 95 beginning at 11 a.m. The ceremony will be rebroadcast frequently during the month of June; exact times will be posted on Channel 95. In addition the ceremony will also be streamed live online at www.frmedia.org and BCC’s Facebook page.
