Congratulations and Welcome to Bristol Community College!

Our New Student Orientation is your gateway to a successful academic journey with us. In fact, Orientation isn't just another box to check off your to-do list – it's an important step in setting you up for success. Research has shown that students who participate in orientation programs are more successful in completing their degrees and earn higher grades.

Attendance at orientation is mandatory for all newly admitted students (including students who have attended Bristol previously).  After completing the New Student Orientation, you’ll receive an assigned academic advisor and details on how to book your first appointment.  New students must wait until meeting with their assigned advisor to register for their first semester classes.

*This does not apply if you are a guest student. Learn more about attending Bristol as a guest student.

Select your steps to begin based on your starting semester below:

If you applied to Bristol with the intention to begin courses in Summer 2024, Orientation is not mandatory for you. After completing your testing requirements, you can meet with any advisor during drop-in hours to register for summer courses. You'll be assigned an Academic Advisor after the start of the summer courses.  Visit the Advising page to review the drop-in hours that work for you.

Orientation is mandatory for you.  The following steps will need to be taken after application to complete your onboarding process:

  1. Submit proof of high school completion (or equivalent).
    • Contact your high school or state-approved high school equivalency testing center and request that an official copy of your transcript be sent to: Admissions Office, Bristol Community College | 777 Elsbree Street | Fall River, MA 02720. Transcripts may also be faxed to the Admissions Office 508.730.3265. Please note that transcripts are only considered official if faxed directly from the school/testing center.
  2. Setup your accessBCC Account (emailed to you after you were admitted). Have questions or need help with setup? Submit an ITS Help Desk ticket here.
  3. Satisfy placement requirements. Click here to learn more about placement tests, see your testing options, and possible exemptions.
  4. Complete New Student Orientation.
  5. Receive assigned advisor and make an appointment.
  6. Meet with your assigned advisor and register for first semester classes.
