Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarships

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship makes it possible for the nation’s top community college students to complete their bachelor’s degrees by transferring to a four-year college or university. The Foundation provides up to $40,000 per year to each of approximately 85 deserving students selected annually, making it the largest private scholarship for two-year and community college transfer students in the country.

A review panel of distinguished university faculty and admissions professionals judge the applicants using criteria including achievement and academic ability, financial need, resilience, leadership, self-confidence, and desire to help others.

All USA Academic Team

BCC nominates two students to the All-USA Academic Team for Community, Technical and Junior Colleges. The All-USA Community College Academic Team recognizes high achieving two-year college students who demonstrate academic excellence and intellectual rigor combined with leadership and service that extends their education beyond the classroom to benefit society. Twenty team members are named annually with each receiving a $5,000 scholarship, a total of $100,000 in scholarship awards. In addition to scholarships, team members are featured in the USA TODAY newspaper and presented at the annual President’s Breakfast held during the American Association of Community Colleges Annual Convention. The application process opens in October and applications are due in early December each year. An independent team of judges reviews the applications to determine scholarship recipients. Phi Theta Kappa notifies students selected as team members in March each year. You must be nominated by the BCC Transfer Scholarship Committee in order to be eligible for this national scholarship.  BCC nominees will be eligible for $500 BCC Foundation scholarships and are eligible for Phi Theta Kappa Internship programs. Click here for the requirements, instructions, due date and application 

The Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Program

The Goldwater scholarship was established by Congress in 1986 to honor Senator Barry Goldwater, who served his country for 56 years as a soldier and statesman, including 30 years of service in the U.S. Senate.

The purpose of the Foundation is to provide a continuing source of highly qualified scientists, mathematicians, and engineers by awarding scholarships to college students who intend to pursue research careers in these fields. Deadline: January 22, 2015. Click here to apply.

UMass Amherst Community College Scholarship

Apply to UMA and, if you meet the scholarship criteria, their Admissions Office will mail you scholarship applications if you’re eligible.

UMASS Amherst Community College Academic Honors Scholarship

This scholarship was developed to reward and recognize MassTransfer graduates of the Massachusetts community colleges for meritorious academic achievement. Up to fifteen scholarships are available each year (both fall and spring admits are considered). Each award is $2,500 per year for full-time students (pro-rated for part-time students) until the student completes their first bachelor's degree requirements at UMass Amherst. Students with a 3.5 or higher GPA at the time of application are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Upon application, eligible students will be mailed a scholarship application. Scholarship awards are made by a scholarship committee.

UMASS Amherst Honors to Honors Scholarships

These scholarships are for Massachusetts community college students who will be enrolling in the UMass Amherst Commonwealth Honors College.  Students must be in an approved MassTransfer program and are encouraged to complete the community college honors program, if one is offered.  Students who do not complete the community college honors program and who have a 3.5 or higher GPA for each semester completed (two or more semesters), who are in approved MassTransfer programs, and who meet all other UMass Amherst transfer admissions criteria will also be considered for places in Commonwealth Honors College.  Also, to be eligible, students must accept the invitation to be in the UMass Amherst Commonwealth Honors College.  The scholarships are for residents of Massachusetts who are low-income or first generation students.  The amount is $6,000 per year for two consecutive years (or four semesters).  Upon admission, eligible students will be mailed a scholarship application.  Scholarship awards are made by a scholarship committee.  The scholarship committee will consider each student’s academic record, level of academic challenge, extracurricular activities, community service, academic major, and work experience.

UMass Dartmouth

Up to $5000 per year depending on GPA

Eligible students are those who are graduating from a two-year college (public or private). Students must have a grade point average of 3.25 or better and have completed their associate degree program before matriculating at UMD. The scholarships are renewable for up to four semesters if students complete 18 credits a year and maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average. Application for admission and subsequent acceptance to UMD will automatically allow students to be considered. Consideration given to students who apply for spring admission by December 1, 2015. Recipients are selected by UMD’s Admissions Committee.

Guaranteed Scholarships from Bryant University

Bryant University has expanded their scholarship support to outstanding BCC transfer students. They will guarantee three $14,000 academic scholarships to students enrolled full time in the following BCC programs:

  • One scholarship to a student in the Presidential Scholars Program.
  • Two scholarships to students enrolled in the Communication Transfer Program, Business Administration Transfer Program or the Computer Information Systems Transfer Program.

Eligibility requirements:

  • acceptance to Bryant University as a full-time student.
  • completion of an associate’s degree in one of the three Bryant College articulation agreement programs.
  • recent graduate from bcc with a minimum GPA of 3.5.
  • enrolled as a full-time student while at BCC.
    *There is no scholarship application. winners will be selected from eligible applicants to Bryant University.

Eastern Nazarene College
Scholarship for Management Majors

ENC offers generous tuition discounts and scholarships to BCC students and staff enrolled in their bachelor of arts degree in Management. Classes are held on BCC’s Fall River campus and students with an associate’s degree from BCC in ANY program are eligible. Classes meet one night a week and students can finish the degree in 30 months. ENC also offers a Master of Science in Management degree at BCC.  Click Here for more information 

Roger Williams University Guaranteed Scholarships

Roger Williams University provides merit scholarships to students who are enrolled in a BCC transfer program and graduate from BCC with the criteria listed below. These scholarships are not dependent on financial aid eligibility.

GPA of 3.60 or greater $10,000
GPA = 3.30-3.59 $8,000
GPA = 3.00-3.29 $6,000

*Students must enroll as full-time, day students at RWU to be eligible. Scholarships are granted for 2 years maximum. To retain eligibility at RWU students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 for the $10,000 scholarships and 3.0 for other scholarships.

Anna Maria College Merit-based Transfer Scholarships

Anna Maria College offers institutional merit-based scholarships for full-time undergraduate freshmen and transfers. A completed FAFSA is not required for merit-based scholarships. These scholarships range in amount from $14,000 to $20,000 and are based on an academic index which is determined by the accepted student’s grade point average, class rank (if provided by the school) and SAT or ACT scores (if submitted). If the student’s school does not provide a rank or the student chooses not to submit SAT or ACT scores, the scholarship amount will be determined by the grade point average. Clark University Transfer Scholarship $12,000 | Merit-based

The Clark University Transfer Scholarship is a competitive merit-based scholarship for students who are transferring to Clark from any two- or four-year institution. If the transfer student has not completed a full year of college credit, his or her high school record will also be taken into account. Transfer Scholarship at Lesley University

Lesley University’s undergraduate merit scholarships and community scholarships are available to students applying for admission for Fall 2015 and Spring 2016 and can be applied toward the cost of tuition. You are considered for up to one scholarship/award during the application review process. Applicants who meet the criteria below are guaranteed a merit scholarship. Lesley will notify you of your award with your admission decision. You will be awarded the one scholarship or award that best reflects your strengths.

Eligibility for Transfer Students: Eligibility is based on the strength of your academic performance as indicated by your cumulative academic GPA at your current/previous institution(s). Part-time students, students enrolled in Lesley's Adult Learning Division (Bachelor's Degree Completion) or off-campus programs, and students with a previous bachelor's degree are not eligible.
*Students participating in the Tuition Exchange Program (TE) or the Council of Independent Colleges Program (CIC) and who have been awarded a tuition scholarship via that program will receive that award only. Any other Lesley Merit scholarship/award will be replaced by the TE or CIC tuition scholarship.

Northeastern University- College of Professional Studies Scholarship Website 

The College of Professional Studies at Northeastern University is privileged to provide scholarship opportunities for our students. These merit- and need-based, alumni- and faculty-supported scholarships are awarded several times a year. Sandra M. Cabral Nursing Scholarship

The scholarship, established in 2000, honors the noteworthy contributions to the field of nursing made by former LifeStream employee Sandra M. Cabral, who was a registered nurse and nursing coordinator. Reflecting Cabral’s career and LifeStream’s mission, the scholarship is offered to enhance the quality of medical support available to people with disabilities living in community settings.

The $2,000 scholarship is awarded annually to one student. Eligible applicants must be a resident of southeastern Massachusetts, pursuing a Registered Nurse degree at a college or university, and be able to demonstrate a firm commitment to assisting people with disabilities in community-based settings currently or upon graduation. Deadline for applications is Monday, November 30, 2015. Announcement of the award will be Monday, December 14, 2015.
