Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEASĀ®)

A computerized scholastic aptitude assessment, TEAS is one component of the selection process for admitting students into the Nursing and Dental Hygiene programs. The goal is to predict those candidates with the highest likelihood of academic success.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to attend a mandatory Health Science Information Session before registering for the TEAS. Register online by clicking here.

REGISTRATION/FEES

  • Register in person at Enrollment Centers in Attleboro, Fall River or New Bedford
  • $70.00 and is nonrefundable/nontransferable. Payment can be made by cash, check, money order, Visa, MasterCard or Discover.
  • Deadline to register is by the close of business the day prior to the exam.  Registrations are accepted on a first come, first served basis.
  • Applicants who cancel or fail to show up on the date of the test will be required to complete another registration form and pay the full registration fee when rescheduling.

  • Required: Valid picture ID. Students will not be allowed to test without photo identification.
  • Prohibited
  • Food or Drink
  • Textbooks or reference books of any kind 
  • Sunglasses, hats or a hood
  • Communication Devices (cell phones, iPods, MP3players, etc.)
  • Personal calculators 
  • Scratch paper (will be provided at exam and collected)

 DISABILITY SERVICES

If you are requesting testing accommodations due to a documented disability, please contact your learning specialist to arrange your accommodations. If you are not a current BCC student, register with the office by contacting 774.357.2295 or odsaccess@bristolcc.edu.  The main office is located in L Building, Room 109.

Please allow 4-6 weeks for processing your documentation.

RETESTS

 In the event an applicant wishes to retake the test a second time, sixty (60) days must elapse between the original test date and the retake. The applicant is required to complete a registration form and pay the full fee.

TEST PREPARATION

 The TEAS® Study Manual and the TEAS® Online Practice Assessment may be purchased at www.atitesting.com/onlinestore. ATI Customer Service can be reached at 1-800-667-7531 to help answer questions and/or take orders.

  • Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS®)Study Manual -The study manual is written specifically to address the needs of students preparing to take the TEAS® or those who need additional help after testing.
  • Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS®)Online Practice Assessment-The online practice assessment includes 100 items designed to be reflective of the TEAS® in both content and format.

TEST RESULTS

  • Applicants must achieve a composite score that falls at or above the 50th percentile.
  • Test results that are more than three (3) years old from the test date will not be accepted.
  • Applicants who have taken the TEAS at another institution must have an official copy of the test results sent to the Admissions Office. This may be requested through Assessment Technologies Institute at www.atitesting.com

TRANSCRIPTS

Students requesting a transcript of scores for another school must request directly through Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI) at 1-800-667-7531.
