Student Government Voting
Nomination papers are now available for the Student Trustee election. They are available at the Office of Student Life in the Commonwealth College Center, G Building Monday, April 24, 2017 through Friday, April 28, 2017 and must be returned to by Monday, May 1, 2017 at noon.
Elections will be on-line through accessBCC on Monday, May 8, 2017 – Tuesday May 9, 2017.
The Student Trustee is the student representative on the Board of Trustees, the governing body of BCC. The Board consists of eleven members; nine appointed by the governor of Massachusetts, one alumnus/alumna and one student. The Board is responsible for long-range planning, financial resource planning, and organizational structure.
This Board meets on the first Monday of every month at 4 p.m. The student trustee must be a full-time undergraduate student. The term of office is one year, July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018. She/he communicates with the Student Senate to familiarize him/herself with student life, activities, issues and concerns that will assist in the presentation made at the monthly trustee meetings. The student trustee will make every effort to attend the monthly state-wide Student Advisory Council meetings along with the Student Senate president.
