Financial Aid

The big question: how can you pay for your education?

Financial aid can ease the burden of costs by offering grants, scholarships, loans, and work study opportunities for qualified students.

You need to be admitted to an eligible degree or certificate program to receive financial aid. All associate degree programs are eligible and some certificate programs are eligible for financial aid. Download the current list of Financial Aid Eligible Certificate Programs.

The Financial Aid Office uses standards and procedures developed by the U. S. Department of Education to estimate a fair student and family contribution, determine financial need, and then determine the amount and type of assistance that can be offered to meet your educational expenses.

IMPORTANT: Conflicting Information Between 2016–2016 and 2017–2018 FAFSAs

If the Department of Education determines that there is conflicting information between your 2016–2017 and 2017–2018 FAFSAs you will be notified by BCC’s financial aid office that action needs to be taken immediately. They can let you know what documentation you may need to provide to verify or correct any conflicting information. Since financial aid eligibility is suspended until resolved, it is vitally important that you respond as simply as possible.

If you receive this notification by mail and/or email it is important that you respond immediately. Please note, if you receive this notice you will not be able to receive financial aid for the 2017-2018 academic year and the 2017 summer semester until you resolve this matter. If you don't reply to the requests by the financial aid office, it will lead to student repayment of all aid received during the 2016-2017 academic year.
If you have not received this notification no action is needed.

Remember: The earlier you apply for financial aid the better! https://fafsa.ed.gov/
