New Student Orientation

New students are invited to attend the New Student Orientation on Wednesday, August 27, 2008.

Orientation is the first step in a series of programs you may participate in to help you make a successful transition to college. You will have an opportunity to meet with the dean of your division to help you better understand your program of study. You will also learn about college life, college resources to help you succeed, and get a tour of the campus (weather permitting).

7:30 - 8 a.m. Check-in, Commonwealth College Center Lobby (G Building)

Pick-up catalogs, handbooks, and Orientation packages. Light refreshments will be available.

8 - 8:50 a.m. Convocation, Jackson Arts Center Auditorium (H Building)

Welcome to Bristol Community College, Dr. John Sbrega, President and Steve Ozug, Vice President of Students and Enrollment Services. The 10 Commandments for College Success, DeWayne Owens, a dynamic motivational speaker and author of the highly acclaimed book, “How to Get Rich on PURPOSE.”

10:15 - 10:45 a.m. Informational Sessions, Jackson Arts Center Auditorium (H Building)

Various BCC staff will discuss several BCC initiatives and resources that will enhance your education.

10:45 - 11:45 a.m. Campus Tours (Start in front of Jackson Arts Center)

Go for a tour led by Student Ambassadors to learn the ins and outs of the campus.

10:45 a.m. - 4 p.m. Student ID’s Hudnall Administration Building, (D Building) Room D-104

ID cards will be available anytime after 10:45 am in D-104.

10:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Student Activities Tables, Outside of Jackson Arts Center

Clubs, organizations and programs promote their activities and recruit new members.

10:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Scavenger Hunt

Participate in a scavenger hunt, and enter to win one of several prizes!

11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Welcome to BCC Luncheon, in front of Farley LRC

Join fellow students, faculty and staff for an old fashioned cookout.

1 p.m. Women’s Soccer Scrimmage, Student Activities Field
