Hispanic/Latino Heritage Month Opening Ceremony
Start Date: 10/3/2018Start Time: 11:30 AM
End Date: 10/3/2018End Time: 1:00 PM

Event Description
The opening ceremony of the Hispanic/Latino Heritage Month will take place Wednesday, October 3 at 11:30 a.m. in the Cafeteria Atrium of G-Building.

President Laura L. Douglas, Ph.D., will address the audience on the importance of this celebration and give the Community Award 2018 to a member of the community for its outstanding contribution to Hispanics/Latinos. The awardee will be the keynote speaker. As part of the event, we will remember the legendary support for students of our former Registrar, the late Milton Clement, and we will remind you to contribute to the Milton Clement Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship serves to help students with small monetary awards, and it is open to students of African, Hispanic, Asian, or Native American descent. The event, free and open to the public, will end with a luncheon with typical Caribbean food. The event is sponsored in part by the Issa Cristina Family.

Stay tuned for more activities celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month!
