Tuition Remission


Tuition remission is available to benefited employees and eligible dependents at any Massachusetts college or university after a six (6) month waiting period with the exception of employees of the MCCC bargaining agreement. A "dependent child" shall mean any natural, adopted or stepchild who is claimed as a dependent on the eligible employee’s Federal Tax Return for the tax year immediately preceding enrollment and/or according to an employee’s collective bargaining agreement.

Courses at Bristol Community College


Day and Evening Courses (includes Distance Learning)

Benefited employees, their spouses and dependents are eligible for 100% tuition and fees are waived.
Please note: Benefited employees, their spouses and dependents must wait 1 week before class begins to enroll.

The Center for Workforce and Community Education
The College provides training for the business community and our employees looking to upgrade their skills, Professional Development through the Center for Workforce and Community Education, as well as, non-credit Personal Enrichment courses and our popular Kids College program.

  • Spouse and Dependent Inclusion Limited: Non-credit Professional Development and Personal Enrichment courses offered through the Center for Workforce and Community Education
  • Dependent Limited: Kids College, contact the Center for Workforce and Community Education
  • Employee Limited: Non-credit Professional Development and Personal Enrichment courses (including Kids College), contact the Center for Workforce and Community Education at 508.678.2811 ext. 2154.
  • Please note: Benefited employees, their spouses and dependents must wait 1 week before class begins to enroll or benefit is forfeited.

To Apply:

  1. Complete the Tuition Waiver for Bristol Community College. Route to appropriate supervisor/department head.
  2. Once approved by supervisor, form will route to Human Resources for approval.
  3. Form will then be forwarded to Student Accounts.

Non-Bristol Courses at Other State Colleges and Universities


Day Courses (includes Distance Learning)

Benefited employees, their spouses and dependents are eligible for 100% tuition waived for day courses in fall and spring semester. The student is responsible for all fees.

Evening Courses (includes Distance Learning)
Benefited employees, their spouses and dependents pay 50% tuition on classes after 4 p.m., weekends, and summer semester classes. The student is responsible for all fees.

To Apply:

  1. Complete the Tuition Remission for Higher Education. Route to appropriate supervisor/department head. 
  2. Once approved by supervisor, form will routed to Human Resources for approval.
  3. Form will be routed back to employees to register at the other state college’s or university’s enrollment office no earlier than 1 week before the class begins.
