A More Perfect Union: Bristol Stands Against Hate

An academic colloquium on understanding

The U.S. Department of Justice most recently reported a disturbing 17 percent rise in hate crimes. The country is also experiencing sharp polarization resulting in a divided nation. These trends are both an ominous backwards turn and an opening for a dark future for the United States and indeed the world. Bristol’s response is a year-long multidisciplinary colloquium aimed at raising awareness of how hatred can fracture all aspects of democracy and the common good.
